Section I: Analyses Learning potential at workplaces

(to be added)

Section II: Development of questionnaires (to be complemented on the basis of following draft)

Making questionnaires we tried to bring them as close as possible to the needs of practical education in the work process. Therefore two questionnaires were prepared: Information on qualifications and Assessment of learning opportunities in enterprises. At the very beginning a list of enterprises to include in the survey was prepared. These were the enterprises which had already collaborated with our school. Both teachers of practical education contacted the responsible in the enterprises and visited them. The questionnaire on qualifications supplied the information on the organization of practical training in the enterprises, contact persons, the number of trainers and the fields of collaboration with our vocational school.

First we obtained the basic information about enterprises (name, address, manager, contact person). Eighteen (18) managers are also the contact persons in their enterprises. On the other hand, there are seven (7) enterprises who have put in charge people responsible for the collaboration. The second questionnaire supplied the information on learning opportunities in enterprises.

The results of the survey suggest that most enterprises have suitable premises and facilities for our car mechatronic 1st year students. Those enterprises specialized in vulcanization and paintwork lack the opportunities of learning in these areas. On the other hand, there are quite a few enterprises which do not fullfil the conditions for workplace learning of our 2nd and 3rd year students.
