Framework of Learning Areas and the related content units: The WLP Course is essentially shaped on the basis of the analyses of the WLP project. The Learning Areas are based on the problems and measures that have been discussed in the project. The content units and the learning tasks provide a realtively open learning architecture. The users can make use of separate learning areas or move across the learning areas (depending on their own needs and interests.

WLP Course Pedagogic planning tool - a pedagogic planning tool that supports the development of the WLP Course: The Learning Areas and the learning tasks have been formulated on a general level and they need to be adjusted to different learning contexts. The pedagogic Planning Tool presents comments on the aims and objectives of the Learning Areas and of the content units. With these comments the tool links the learning tasks to the work of the WLP project and to other parallel developments (e.g. regarding the use of web reources to support workplace learning).

WLP Course Customisation tool - presents the Customisation tool that supports the adjustment of the WLP Course to the context for promoting workplace learning: The relatively open architecture of the WLP Course makes it possible for the users to navigate their ways through the Learning Areas (and content units) on the basis of their own interests. Therefore, the WLP Course can be used as a tutorial environment for self-directed learning. However, if the material is used as a suppirt for organised training measures, there is a need to get the learning processes properly grounded. Therefore the WLP Course includes also Customisation tool that poses questions (on the specific preconditions for developing workplace learning) and invites the users to give their own views.

Annexes - The tools related to the WLP Course

The WLP project was launched to develop common ideas and common tools for promoting workplace learning partnerships. This idea is reflected in the basic tools - the Learning Potential Analysis and Learning Achievement Review. These tools are presented in a separate section.

However, the WLP project experienced that it is difficult to bring different interest groups to common discussion on the development of workplace learning. In order to overcome such difficultiesthe  project has developed Workshop Tools to support facilitators of such workshops. The Workshop Tools are presented in a separate section.

Another difficulty is related to the relations between individual learning and organisational learning. A further problem is provided by the fact that different pedagogic approaches may use same concepts in a different way. Because of these difficulties another set of tutorial tools has been developed to promote awareness of 'learning' within workplace learning. These 'KLearn' tools are also presented in a separate section.
