WLP Web Piloting Areas
The Section “WLP Web Piloting Areas” of the WLP website was set up as a joint service for the national partners to support their piloting activities and as a medium to learn from each others' progress.
The main idea was to support the piloting with a country-specific Piloting Forum and with company-specific blogging facilities. The national research partners were invited to serve as moderators and to provide additional resources that could support the pilot activities.
In practice, two countries made specific efforts to use such facilities in their national pilot activities:
- The Italian Piloting Forum was established as an internal community forum for cooperation between a training provider (Training 2000) and regional enterprises in Aquila. The introduction of the blogging facilities served as an interim step in the creation of an industrial learning community. The Italian Piloting Forum and the community blogs were password-protected and the contents were accessible only to registered users of the Piloting Forum.
- ITB organised a WLP-related course for students at the University of Bremen. The course worked alongside the WLP project and made secondary analyses of German-language literature on workplace learning partnerships. The participants used the community blog "WLP Course at ITB" as a medium for internal communication and for sharing knowledge. The blog was kept open for wider audiences and the contents have been stored in the WLP archive.
