Tom Leney suggested that the planning, development, implementation, evaluation cycle is well established and that we are offering variants on that. So here is one representationof what we are trying to do. Should we collect a number of representations of the WLP process.

Workplace Learning Partnership:

Planning (initial discussions):
agreement on a focus for partnership given organisational needs, competences and ways in which partnership could work

The plan (development process):
This shows the key points in the partnership, the goals and activities to achieve the required outcomes.

Implementation:
implementation of the agreed activities as part of an agreed process.

The Review
Once the initial cycle of events is complete — the partners should gather thoughts and ideas on the activities, how far the original objectives have been met and whether the desired outcomes have been achieved.

Reflection:
sharing ideas with how to keep moving forward with the partnership (not just refining intial agreed set of activities).

1 Representation of interaction and collaboration at work

Representation of interaction with work and collaborastion at work can be seen as potentially powerful pedagogic strategies.

Workplace learning partnerships (WLPs) use interaction and collaborastion at work in ways that are potentially very powerful as pedagogic strategies. Hence it might be useful for us to develop collectively commitments to a set of ideas and principles (or cornerstones) that offer the possibility of pedagogically sound WLPs enhanced if possible by innovative e-learning practices.

The intention will be to use these ideas for support in identifying the requirements of e-learning tools that support teaching and learning through WLPs. One particular challenge is to model how learners engage and interact with resources, individuals and groups, work-related problems and issues, etc.
