I´m teaching at the University of Extremadura in a subjetc related to counselling.
I’m glad to take part in this discussion forum. I’m a phd student who works as a research and teaching assistant in the University of Extremadura. In fact, I teach in the degree of Phsyco-pedagogy, one of the future tasks of people who study this degree is counselling students of secondary school, so we must teach them how to guide students. The kind of training of this degree is mostly academic, but it has also a practical component; that is the subject that we’ve called “Practicum”. In fact, during the forth year of the degree the “Practicum” consists in going to an institution or company for one month. In the fifth and final year of the degree students should go to the same institution or company once a week, where they will be practising what they learn in the theory. Every student has a supervisor in the institution and also in the university. Those supervisors should be in touch, so that during the forth year the students, with the help of the advisors, will design a project for the Institution. Finally, the objective is that during the fifth year they will develop the project previously designed. Best regards

Hi Laura - welcome to the project

It's great to have someone like you, with some experience of social spftware in educational settings, working in the project.

By the way, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful few months with that happy, hard-working, frighteningly bright crowd at the IER :o)

Looking forward to many fruitful discussions over the next months...

Mike

Laura, it is useful to have you join the discussion
you were saying that the students sometimes used your e-learning platform to exchange experiences about their experiences on their practicuum - could you say a little more about this, Alan p.s. re multiple replies - note on your own contributions next to the reply button there is a pencil icon: with that you can edit your duplicated text - changing the topic too.
